Day 9 - Recreate your favorite - Erica's Nails and More February Challenge

Here it is everyone, we are finally (sadly) at the last day of the challenge. I really enjoy doing nail art challenges and get kind of sad once they are over. All good things must come to an end though.

So today's theme is pretty wide open - recreate your favorite. I knew right away I wanted to recreate someone else's manicure during the challenge and not my own. I was stuck between a few of them - there were that many great ones!

I ultimately decided to recreate Polished Potential's half moon manicure and added a twist of my own. You can check out her awesome half moon manicure here.

I love, love, love how these turned out! I will be doing it again for sure! I have gotten so many compliments on it so far.

I used:

Sinful Colors - Mint Apple
Sinful Colors - Snow Me White (Half moon and stamping)
Mash - 42 Stamping Plate

Inspired by a tutorial - Erica's Nails and More February Challenge

Hey everyone!

Tonight I have for you day 7 of the challenge which is inspired by a tutorial. I was not sure what I wanted to do for this one so I just hopped on google and browsed through pictures. I ended up falling in love with a cupcake manicure I saw. You can find the tutorial here

Since Walgreens is offering Sinful Colors for 99 cents with coupon I picked up 6 of the new Sugar Rush collection and I knew right away this would be perfect. I love the colors so much and I thought I would hate pastels on me - boy was I wrong! I am planning on going back and picking up the 2 other polishes I missed out of the collection.

Here are my cupcake nails!

I don't have any nail art brushes and I think I need to invest in some. I made my stripes with a dotting tool so they are a little jagged looking. I still think they are adorable though.

I used:
Sinful Colors - Unicorn
Sinful Colors - Sugar N' Spice
Sinful Colors - Candy Coated
Sally Hansen - White On
HK Girl Top Coat

Here is what is left! We are getting close to the end! It really flew by and as always I get sad when a challenge is over!

P.S. I am not kidding if you have not entered the giveaway you really want to do so HERE, we are getting down the wire! Who is going to take home some amazing prizes?

Check out below the other awesome manicures!

Black and White - Laid Back Challenge

So a few weeks ago I decided to join the Crumpet's Nail Tarts Laid Back Challenge. I am not good at doing daily challenges because some manicures I am fond of and don't want to take it off. This challenge is right up my alley! Here is a look of what will be coming up! There are quite a few things on the list that I have yet to attempt so I am really excited!!!

So before I post the pictures I just want to share that yesterday I broke not one but two nails on both hands. So I had to go to nubbins! I am so sad! This is the shortest my nails have been since September! So bare with me while my poor nails grow back! I hope it will not be long! Let's get on with the manicure!

I used:

Essie Marshmallow
Pure Ice Black Rage
BM - 314

I hope you like it! Check back tomorrow for my first day of Erica's Nails and More February challenge!

Also you can check out some other black and white manicures that ladies have done down below!

Here Fishy, Fishy!

Whenever I go fishing you will always hear me call out "here fishy, fishy" I don't know why but it works for me! Last week I was browsing through and saw that Pure Ice was doing a nail art contest called Pure Ice My City! You had to come up with a manicure that is inspired by your city, or state.

Since I have not lived in Rochester very long I decided to stick with Minnesota. I knew right away I wanted to do something with lakes. Minnesota is known as Land of 10,000 lakes. I love the water! I love to swim, go boating, fish etc. I decided to make my manicure about ice fishing. I thought it was going to be a lot easier to do than it was. In the end I am pretty proud of it. All was done freehand.

I was really inspired by the whole snowman connected nail I just knew right away I was going to have a line go down both nails and a fish at the end. It was my mother in law's idea to add the ice shack. I had a really fun time creating this!

If you are interested in learning more about the contest you can visit Pure Ice's facebook page for details. You might want to hurry though! Contest closes Friday (tomorrow) morning!

Holly - SMYTC Holiday Challenge Day 9

Real quick here is day 9. Had a busy day of holiday baking and only made a small dent in my to do list.

I tried to do stamping but I don't think I have a good green stamping polish and I didn't want to make black holly leaves so I free handed it.

 Here it is

Sorry about the awkwardness of this photo-the hubs took these pictures because I had a bunch of lotion on!

I used Sally Hansen White On - Wet n Wild SaGreena the Teenage Witch - China Glaze Ruby Pumps and lastly Finger Paints Sparkle and Snowflake.

Inspired by a Holiday Movie - SMYTC Holiday Challenge Day 8

Hey everyone! Sorry I have been MIA I had to brave the stores to get all our Christmas shopping done. I only have 2 small things left to get and I am done. I cannot believe how fast the days are coming and we are almost just a week away from Christmas.

So today's challenge was Inspired by a holiday movie. I was stumped at first about what I could do in the beginning. Well I wanted to get these cute water decals for Christmas so I ordered the Grinch. I thought this would be perfect for today's challenge. I started with a white and green saran wrap mani but it was too much green and the grinch could not be seen so I had to change it up.

Here they are!

I used Sally Hansen White On and HK Girl top coat. Simple!

Snowman - SMYTC Holiday Challenge Day 7

Hey everyone!

Does anyone do holiday baking? I love doing holiday baking but I really took a lot on this year. We have an island and it is completely full of baking and candy making supplies. I feel so overwhelmed! I spent 5 hours today dipping pretzels and making cookies. The sad thing is I still have lots more dipping, candy making, and cookie making to do. Christmas is coming way too fast!

So I did my snowman manicure yesterday just in case I would have to redo it. I am proud to say that I think I nailed it. I have to say I think this has probably been my favorite holiday manicure to date.

Isn't he cute?

I am not done.... I was searching online for snowman inspiration and I ran across a snowman manicure I just fell in love with over at The Nailasaurus. I just had to attempt it for myself....

Wait for it....

Bam! I nailed it! I am really proud of this manicure!

I used Sinful Colors - Rain Storm for the base color
Stamped on snowflakes with China Glaze - For Audrey
Sally Hansen - White On (For Mr. Snowman)
Sally Hansen - Grass Slipper (For the scarf and color on the hat)
Wet n Wild - 9.0.2.1.Orange (For the nose)
Pure Ice - Black Rage (For the buttons, hat, arms, eyes, mouth, and scarf)
HK Girl - Top coat

Here is what is left of the Challenge

Snowflakes - SMYTC Holiday Challenge Day 3

So today is day 3 of the holiday challenge. I decided to try the stamping thing again. This summer my sister in law and I both picked up a little kit at Walmart that had a few plates, stamping polish, stamper, and scraper. We tried over and over to get it to work and no luck. So the plates just sat. I decided to try again this time with Sally Hansen White On and it worked! I used the Fingrs Flirt Stamping kit and plate B17.

Since no two snowflakes are alike I reflected this on my nails. Some are partial snowflakes and I like it that way!

I used Orly Royal Blue which I picked up this weekend at Sally Beauty Supply with my coupon. It's a very gorgeous eye catching blue with some shimmer to it. I had full coverage in 2 coats! I am very pleased with the polish.

Here are my day 3 of the challenge nails - Snowflakes

I really want stamping plates now! I think this could become very addicting!

Candy Canes - SMYTC Holiday Challenge Day 2

Hey everyone!

So here is day two - candy canes. I think it's quite funny that in my last challenge I participated in I had no problems doing stripes. This one - gave me a headache needless to say. I re did my mani about 5 times. I tried freehand,  tape, water marble, dotting tools like I said nightmare. I ended up keeping the last mani and had tape. There are a few spots where I had to freehand fix it up (which can be seen) so here it is

I used China Glaze Ruby Pumps and Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear White On. Topped with HK Girl

Here is a preview of what is to come in this challenge!

November Nail Art Challenge - Day 9

Hello everyone!

I can't believe we are already at day 9 this challenge really flew by. I was really not looking forward to doing water marble nails because I have tried 3 or 4 times in the past year and have failed each time. I think these turned out fairly well. I would have liked to redo them but I am sick with a nasty cold. Not fun! It took so much motivation to get this done.

Here are my day 9 nails

I was going for a red, white, and green holiday theme but the green ended up being a very light minty color. I didn't try and do a pattern so they are all different types of water marbling.
