LE Dollish Polish - Girls Rule, Boys Drool

Hello Everyone! Anyone have plans this weekend? This is the first weekend since October that my hubby is working 60 hrs so he only has Sunday off. Looks like I will be polishing, sewing, and possibly doing some holiday baking this weekend.

Moving on... Today I have for you Dollish Polish's Girls Rule, Boys Drool. I was one of the lucky gals to snag this limited edition polish - there was only 300 to go around.

This polish applied like a dream! I did not have to place any glitters anywhere and it was even! I am very happy with this polish. Instead of building it on it's own (I want to conserve this beauty) I put it over my Elevation Polish - Pic du Gar (Which I also won in a giveaway) I love how the dark purple really makes GRBD pop and come to life!

Here are the pictures!

As you can see you get a pretty even and strong amount of polish with just one coat. I am sure 2 coats maybe 3 coats would be needed for full coverage of just this polish alone.

I hope everyone has a great weekend! Oh side note I am pretty sure I am going to participate in the Show Me Your Top Coats group's Holiday Challenge. So look forward to more nail art!

November Nail Art Challenge - Day 10

Well it is the last day! I feel this challenge flew by! Thank you Erica for hosting this challenge!

Looking back I can see definite improvements from my first post. I feel that this time I stayed in my comfort zone although I did try a bunch of new techniques but I have decided the next challenge I do I am going to branch out and really try new things and step outside the box a bit. Ladies you all did a terrific job and I really enjoyed looking at each of the posts!

Once I did my polka dot mani for the first time ever in this challenge I knew I wanted to recreate it for day 10. I was looking back at my very first challenge entry and I thought the rainbow was just pitiful so I was going to redo the rainbow one but I decided to do the best of both world's. I decided to do a rainbow polka dot mani.

So here is my last entry for this challenge. I hope you enjoy!

November Nail Art Challenge - Day 9

Hello everyone!

I can't believe we are already at day 9 this challenge really flew by. I was really not looking forward to doing water marble nails because I have tried 3 or 4 times in the past year and have failed each time. I think these turned out fairly well. I would have liked to redo them but I am sick with a nasty cold. Not fun! It took so much motivation to get this done.

Here are my day 9 nails

I was going for a red, white, and green holiday theme but the green ended up being a very light minty color. I didn't try and do a pattern so they are all different types of water marbling.

November Nail Art Challenge Day 7 and 8

Hope everyone had a good Thanksgiving! I have had nothing but problems while on vacation, I had my post scheduled to post automatically but low and behold it did not. I am still new to blogger and I am not sure what happened but the post was  missing. I am going to make this short and sweet and show the pictures because we are about to hit the road and come home and the internet is very spotty out at my mom's.

So here are my day 7 and 8 nails!

Blue Mani for Diabetes Support!

Hey Everyone! Hope everyone is keeping warm! I am still counting down and getting excited to visit family next week in Indiana. So much to do before we leave though, that's the sucky part of it all. Plus the anticipation makes time move really slow!

So I did a blue mani today for Diabetes Support! There has been a few close people to me that suffered from diabetes. So I wanted to make sure I did a blue mani for this.

 Here it is
 Pure Ice Midnight Blue

This applied really easy. It is in the 2012 collection that Pure Ice released. Velour finish. I love the look and it looks great with a top coat as well!

November Art Challenge - Day 6

We are getting close to the finish line! I am really thankful that we have a few days between each challenge. I don't think I could handle doing a new "task" every day. Hats off to the ladies who can do that, I just can't.

So today's theme was inspired by another's nails. Well remember how I mentioned I really wanted to do Saran Wrap nails? Well today is the day! I could not even believe how cool and simple these are! I picked 2 pretty contrasting colors and ran with it. I have a feeling these types of mani's will be on my nails often! Love the marbled effect.

I first came across the saran wrap mani on Pinterest (of course) that's where all my great plans start. I fell in love with this picture

This picture is from Glitter, She Wrote which is a blog you can visit her link with this mani HERE

 So here they are

I used Nicole OPI Khloe had a little Lam-Lam and then Sinful Colors Slate

Here I used Sinful Colors Slate and Nicole OPI Show You Care

(Here is one I did today, I plan on wearing it all weekend!)

Here it is... again sorry about the lighting! I think I need to ask the hubby to make me a light box this weekend. The pictures do not do these babies justice!

November Nail Art Challenge - Day 5

Getting my post done early  well on time! I had a hair up my butt to try and get this done tonight. I am going to try and get some more nail art done this week because next week I am going to Indiana to spend Thanksgiving with my Mom and my Sister.

Day 5 of the challenge is half moons. When I looked at pictures online I thought these were really ugly. Once I did them to myself... eh not so bad. I might actually do them again to my nails. It was my first time doing this type of nail art. Not too bad for my first time.

I am not sure if I have an orb or a fleck of something on my camera lens so I apologize for the spot on the pictures. I also really need to make a light box!

So here it is -

(My ring finger.. not sure what happened.. my guess I put the sticker on wrong.)

For the bottom color I used Nicole OPI - Khloe had a little Lam-Lam and the top I used Sinful Colors Slate which I adore!

Here is the remaining challenges left

November Nail Art Challenge - Day 4

This challenge was really hard for me. I don't have any stamping plates that work - and I couldn't get down the delicate thing freehand. So I ended up using nail decals. I think I need to order some decent plates and do a redo at the end of this challenge.

Here is my day 4 nails:

At least the pink is delicate... I used Sally Hansen - Pretty Petunia

Here is the lineup of the remaining challenge days

November 8 - No H8

Bullying is not funny. It is not cool. It is not right. And more importantly, it is not okay.

Most of us are, thankfully, residents of countries that support tolerance and many of our families have settled in these places simply for that reason. Generations later, it is our responsibility to perpetuate that message of tolerance across our new social platforms, including the internet.

As members of the nail polish blogging community, we all share a love of beauty, color, and lacquer. Other than that, we are remarkably different: from our race to our religion to our hair color...even to our polish application techniques. To marginalize anyone because of those differences is completely unacceptable and today I take a stand against that. I refuse to allow other people's view of "normal" dictate how I behave, believe, and blog.

In solidarity with a multitude of bloggers linked below, my purple manicure represents my proud commitment to the No H8 movement. Today, November 8, I dedicate my post to ending bullying of any kind and to encouraging diversity and imperfection among our colorful community.

So my mani for today is Nicole OPI - Prized Possession Purple topped with Essie - Matte About You and my accent nail is Sally Hansen - Disco Ball also mattified.

Down below are other blogs supporting this movement! You can check out their pages on the links below.

November Nail Art Challenge - Day 3

Well today is day 3 of the challenge. Something inspired from a tutorial. At first I was going to do Saran Wrap nails because I really want to try it out, but then decided not to do it.

So off to the Internet I went. Well last night I was going through my pinterest and I was swooning over Essie Starry Starry Night... I pinned that over a year ago thinking oh that's so pretty - one day I have to get it. Well.... come to find out last night - it's like impossible. Well unless one comes on Ebay and your willing to spend some major dollars and I am talking over 100. I just love the look! Anyway so I was looking up dupes and such and came across galaxy nails. I thought ok this should be fun!

So today I decided to try out Galaxy nails. I think mine turned out ok.... I was looking for more of a wow factor and maybe my glitter coat is too much glitter I don't know. Anyway.

I found my tutorial at Beauty by Clara you can check it out and see her wonderful galaxy nails on the link. I did not see any watermarks on her pictures so I decided not to post a picture of hers here.

Here is what I used :
Pure Ice - Black Rage
Wet n Wild - Metallica
Wet n Wild - SaGreena the Teenage Witch
Wet n Wild - Buffy the Violet Slayer
Sally Hansen - Hot Magenta
Sally Hansen - Disco Ball
Top Coat - Seche Vite

So here you have it my day 3 nails! I am really not looking forward to day 4. I have no idea what delicate nails are, and from what I have found it's a lot of lace looking nails... well I don't have stamping plates so we shall see how this goes. Day 4 is going to be a challenge for me!

Nail Mail - Giveaway Prize from Artful Tips

So last week I won a total of 4 polish related giveaways! I couldn't believe my luck - and to think I didn't win the lottery at all last weekend, Oh well!

Today I got my first prize! This one was from Artful Tips' facebook page. It was to get 50 followers. The prize was a complete surprise so I was really excited to get this box today!

Here is what I got -

I got a Cosmetic Caddy - which will work great for putting my clean up brush and homemade striper brushes in. Nail care sticks. A nail buffer thing. 2 Fast dry NYC polishes (East Village and Flat Iron Green) Lastly I got these mini bottles of nail art... they almost look like beads.

Here is a closer look of the nail art bottles.

Anyone know how to use these?

It was a great surprise and I realized that I love getting nail mail.... this could be really bad for the hubby :)

Have a great day everyone and keep warm (it's cold here in Minnesota)

November Julep Box

So when I took the style quiz on the Julep website it said I was Classic with a Twist. I felt that it just wasn't me so I chose to be a Boho Glam. Well this month I had to go with the It Girl box. The colors just fit me best. Although this is not my first experience with matte (I tried matte last year when I bought a bottle of Essie's Matte About You top coat) it was my first experience with suedes. I have to say I am digging it! I wore Hailee all weekend with no top coat and no chips until Monday! Which is much longer than I thought it would last.

I was feeling a little under the weather this past weekend so I did not take any pictures of my nails - but I do plan to wear them again and take pictures.

Here is a picture of my box

I got Hailee, Nora, and Matte Top Coat
I also got 3 to go nail polish remover pads. I like carrying these in my purse or in the car!

If you are interested in the Julep monthly program you can click on my Julep Maven tab on top for more details!

November Nail Art Challenge Day 2

Hello everyone! Hope all is well! I just want to remind everyone to go out and vote!

I am so excited to show you my day 2 challenge nails. Day 2 is Polka Dots, I have had my dotting tools for a few weeks now (Thanks to my Mom!) and this was the first time i got to use them. I think they turned out awesome! I also have been researching on taking better nail photos. I think these are a great improvement compared to my last post.

Just a quick reminder of what you will be seeing this month through the challenge.

Here they are!

(Much better right?)

I just adore the colors. I think it works perfect for fall! I call this a success!

I used Sally Hansen Complete Salon Manicure in Pumice for the base and the dots on my accent nail.
Then I used Sinful Colors Rain Storm to do the dots as well as the base of my accent nail.

I picked up the Sally Hansen Pumice on clearance at Target and I have to say I know why. This was a pain to apply it was thick and streaky and the brush was a nightmare. It was not like my other Complete Salon Manicure polishes I have.

I look forward to the next day of the challenge!

November Nail Challenge - Day 1

I hope everyone's Halloween was great! We had a great time decorating the yard and carving pumpkins. We had so many compliments! Although we were pretty much done handing out candy at 7:30. It almost makes me sad because I remember trick or treating and it was always on until 9:30 sometimes even 10:00. I guess times have changed big time.

Anyway I am so excited because today is day 1 of the November nail challenge I decided to join. Here is the schedule -

When I thought of rainbow I knew right away I wanted to do dots. Well then I saw that the next challenge was polka dots so I decided to skip it. So I went on pinterest for inspiration and I found it almost right away. I decided to try out a rainbow gradient method. This was my very first attempt at this and although it's not perfect, I am IN LOVE with my nails :)

PS Please forgive the pictures... This is my first "photo shoot" and I am still working on what is comfortable.

So here it is:

So there it is! Again I apologize for the picture quality. I hope to get better with time!

Can't wait for the next one! Polka Dots!
